Browse Full Shop ↗Nengo Aura Records — NAR — is the music label division of Nengo Media Grid (NMG), the Pan-African media organisation operating at nmgtoday.com and a core venture of RESLAW GROUP INC. The label exists because Nengo Media Grid believes that media and music are not separate disciplines — they are two expressions of the same fundamental act: telling the truth about who we are.
The name is deliberate. Nengo — the innovation and media lineage shared with Nengo Innovations and Nengo Media Grid. Aura — that quality in a voice, a lyric, a melody, or a performance that makes you feel something without being able to explain why. Together, they describe exactly what we are looking for in the music we develop and release: authentic African sound with an intangible, enduring resonance.
NAR is not a vanity label or a side project. It is a serious creative institution — built to develop artists with care, release music with intention, and contribute to the East African and Pan-African music landscape with the same editorial rigour that Nengo Media Grid brings to journalism. We believe the music that defines a generation should be made by people who understand what that generation is living through. Our artists do.
Currently the label is home to RS Lawrence — its founder, head, and first signed artist. The roster will grow selectively. We are not looking for volume. We are looking for voices.

Nengo Aura Records is actively developing its artist roster. We are looking for musicians whose work carries genuine cultural weight — artists who have something to say and the craft to say it with. We are not looking for a certain sound. We are looking for a certain honesty.
Signing with NAR means access to the full Nengo Media Grid ecosystem — editorial coverage through NMG, distribution and broadcast infrastructure, music video production through RESLAW Media, and community reach through the RESLAW GROUP network. It means working with RS Lawrence as a label head who is himself a practising recording artist — not a suit, but a peer.
